A Bit About Us
Eric and Mindy Yarbrough started Uncle Ricky's in the fall of 2023. What started off as a weekend hobby has quickly become a thriving family-run business with many loyal fans.

Eric, aka Uncle Ricky, is the pit-master and namesake of the business. His love of BBQ began when he was a child spending summers at his grandparent's house in Bastrop, Texas. During those summers his uncle Henry and his grandfather Manuel would often bbq for the family. Many years later, Eric would take what he learned from his uncle and grandfather, along with studying some of the top names in the BBQ world, and perfect his own technique. A technique which has become the Uncle Ricky's signature style we know and love today. The name Uncle Ricky's derived from the affectionate name his nieces and nephews donned him when they were younger and the name stuck.

Mindy, the brains and marketing master of the business, had the idea to start Uncle Ricky's after a jamaica in which Eric was asked to cook 13 briskets. The food Eric cooked sold out in less than 3 hours and the demand for more led Mindy to realize we might have something here. Her vision was correct and thanks to her insight, Uncle Ricky's was born. With over 15+ years in sales experience Mindy is excited to lead the way. Together we hope to serve the Lubbock community for years to come.

Eric and Mindy own and operate Uncle Ricky's in Lubbock, Texas with their children Victoria, Peter, Aiden, and Draven. It takes a village and we are blessed!
